In July 2020, the government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up lost time after school closure. £650 million of this funding was directed to schools to mitigate the effects of the unique disruption caused by coronavirus. The grant will only be available for the 2020-2021 academic year. Each school will receive £80 per student.
